Asbury Park Police are investgiating a shooting that occurred at a location in the city on Saturday morning.
According to authorities, police responded to reports of an injured person at the Brother's Fish and Chicken restaurant located in the 1100 block of Bangs Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the male victim bleeding from the chest after an unidentified assailant fired a shot at him, according to police.
The victim was transported to an area hospital suffering serious injuries.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been made.
