A shooting that left a male victim injured in Newark Friday night has police investigating.
Gunfire erupted in the vicinity 50 7th Avenue shortly before 11:25 p.m. sending police rushing to the scene according to authorities.
Upon arrival, police requested EMS on a rush after finding a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
In a separate incident, reports of multiple rounds of shots fired sent police to the single digit block of Riverview Court before 12:30 a.m. where police arrived to find shell casings but no injured victims.
There were no arrests reported in either shootings.
