Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that injured a male at a location in the city this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out on South 6th Street between 14th and 15th avenues at around 4:15 p.m.
When police arrived, they found an unidentified male suffering bullet wounds at that location.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in an unknown condition.
Police taped off the area as they conducted the investigation.
The suspects fled the scene and remain at-large.
