Passaic County authorities are investgiating a shots-fired incident that connected on a male early Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Madison and 21st avenues at approximately 3:25 a.m.
Police arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his stomach according to police.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where doctors treated severe injuries.
In a possibly related incident, shortly after EMS transported the gunshot victim to the hospital, two people entered the emergency department suffering stab injuries according to police.
Police are attempting to determine the location where the stabbing occurred and the circumstances behind the incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
