Gunfire rang out at around 4 p.m. this afternoon in the area of Reeves and West Runyon Street sending police rushing to the scene where a female victim was shot and seriously wounded.
The woman was rushed to University Hospital where she suffered injury to the chest and reported to be in serious condition.
Police have a crime scene established and a possible vehicle struck by gunfire.
An investigation is underway.
