Several resident arriving home from a days work prepared to start an evening with family and dinner preparation was startled by multiple gunshot blast, sending some residents covering and hiding from flying bullets desperately hoping one doesn't pierce into their homes as described by several resident on the 500 block of South 19th street just after 5pm. When the smoke cleared and residents came out of hiding, a man laid shot dead nearby sending scores of police officers and EMS to the area. Police scoured the area around 544 South 19th St. before learning that the suspect may have been hiding in the area of 300 South Orange Ave. where police set up a perimeter to search for the suspect. It is not clear if the suspect was ever found. A crime scene has been established and police ask residents to call police if they have seen anything regarding this shooting.
