EMS transported one person to the hospital earlier this evening after gunfire rang out in a neighborhood in East Orange.
Police set up a crime scene in the area of Beech Street and Shepard Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. after a gunman fired several shots a the victim then fled the scene in a Nissan SUV.
The extent of the victim's injuries was not reported as fatal.
East Orange Police are investigating.
