Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that happened in Newark's Central Ward late last night.
Officials from the University Hospital contacted authorities when a male victim arrived to the hospital suffering injury from gunfire according to reports.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police focused their investigation around the Spruce Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard neighborhood where detectives setup a crime scene searching for evidence and possible suspects.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and there were no suspects Director Ambrose said.
Director Ambrose want to thank the community at-large for their continued support in reporting crimes anonymously around the city that has led to hundreds of arrest and convictions since the beginning of June.
