Gunfire Injures Man in Asbury Park

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the individual(s) involved in a shooting in Asbury Park Tuesday afternoon that left a male injured, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

According to authorities, at approximately 4:06 p.m. on May 29th, the Asbury Park Police Department responded to the area of 1400 Main Street to a report of shots fired. Arriving officers located a 2017 Nissan Altima which sustained a single gunshot to the driver’s side door.

Police say at approximately 5:35 p.m., a male - who did not own the Altima - arrived at the Neptune Township Police Department suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

Officials said a gun shot was also located on a garbage can near the south side of 1400 Main Street.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
