Attempted Gas Station Robbery Ends in Shots Fired in Orange

Orange Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a commercial business that ended in shots fired at a location in the city on Saturday night.

Reports of shots fired in the 60's block of South Essex Street sent officers to the scene where they encountered a Delta Gas Station employee who reported that a black male suspect arrived at the business armed with a weapon.

According gas station officials, the employees was able to run for cover, locking himself inside a structure at the gas station.

The suspect reportedly fired a shot from the vehicle after becoming upset that he could not obtain any cash from the employee. The assailant then sped away from the scene eastbound on Freeway Drive.

Police arrived at the scene and found a shell casing but there were no injuries reported.

Reports say the vehicle that the suspect fled the scene in was occupied by several black males with at least one with his face covered.

The suspects remain at-large.
