An early morning shot-fired incident in Newark's Central Ward is under investigation by police.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 2:45 a.m., a ShotSpotter device activated in the vicinity of 646 South 11th Street, prompting a police investigation.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victims were located after units searched the area.
Police requested local hospitals to stay on alert for possible walk-in gunshot victims, but as of 4 a.m., there were no injuries reported.
The motive behind the shooting has not been determined and the suspects remain at large.
