Gunfire Erupts on Paterson Street Injuring One Person

Paterson Shooting Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 7:05 p.m. on Apr. 24th, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Main and Weiss Street in Paterson for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival the police located a possible crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim. A short time later, the police were notified that a 21-year-old male Jersey City resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds.

Officials said based on the initial investigation, the victim was in the area of Main and Weiss Street when the shooting took place.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
