There is an active investigation underway and search for the suspect responsible for a shooting that injured one person in Paterson on Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 75 Oak Street to investigate reports of shots fired just before 11 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victim was found according to officials.
A short time later, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency department suffering wounds to the stomach and hip according to reports.
Police also set up a crime scene in the 40's block of Cedar Street where they found additional evidence at that location.
Police have not released the motive for the shooting and there are no arrests reported.
