Overnight gunfire that erupted in Newark's West Ward has police investigating.
Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of South Orange Avenue and South 19th Street shortly before 10 p.m.
Arriving use located evidence of a shooting but no victim was immediately found.
Cops setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for additional evidence and a person responsible for the shooting.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
