Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital earlier this evening in the city.
According to authorities, the female victim, 47, from Newark is being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound at Clara Mass hospital.
Police apprehended two occupants and recovered a gun from their car that crashed near Grafton Avenue after it was seen fleeing the scene authorities said.
The car’s two occupants are being charged with possession of a gun, possession of a gun for unlawful charges and eluding.
Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Detectives are continuing to gather the facts, conduct interviews and follow up on leads in an effort to determine exactly what happened and determine the motive.
