There are serious injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred a short time ago in Newark's Central Ward.
Multiple rounds of gunfire rang out in the 700 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard at around 3:30 p.m. sending police and EMS ot the scene where they found a male victim laying on the ground suffering gunshot wounds.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark in serious condition according to officials.
Police are looking for a tan colored vehicle, occupied by two black males, that sped away from the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
