Gunfire Erupts in Newark Injuring Two

Police in Newark are on the search for a silver or light colored vehicle (possibly a Monte Carlo) wanted for an early morning shooting that injured at least two people.

Reports of heavy gunfire that erupted in the 400 block of South 10th Street shortly before 2 a.m. sent several police units to the scene where a thorough search of several blocks had officers locating two victim suffering injury from gunfire in the 200 block of 16th Ave.

The victims were transported to University Hospital where their injuries were not reported to be life threatening.

Police searched the 200 block of Littleton Ave. for suspects that were possibly involved in the shooting.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
