The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office K9 unit is assisting in the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting that injured one person this evening in Neptune City.
Several police units rushed to the 1100 black of Embury Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. to investigate reports of shots fired.
Units arriving at the scene found the victim suffering an apparent gunshot wound to the stomach at that location.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey Shore Medical Center suffering serious injuries.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene towards the high school.
There were no other injuries reported.
The motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
