Police several shell casing at the scene of a shooting in a section of Newark's South Ward on Monday.
The late-night shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. near 22 Evergreen Avenue.
Police said a gunman fired multiple rounds of bullets at males standing in the area before the assailant fled the scene,
Officers arrived and taped off the area after locating ballistics, but a search of the area indicated no victims.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
