Asbury Park Police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in the city overnight.
Reports of shots fired rushed police to the 100 block of Prospect Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. where they found evidence that a shooting had occurred.
According to preliminary reports, a male victim was found in the 800 block of Main Street suffering injury from gunfire.
EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital were his injuries were not immediately reported as fatal.
Police and detectives set up a crime scene where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
