Police in Paterson are looking for the suspect who fired multiple rounds of gunfire on a street in the city on Wednesday night.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the 700 block of East 24th Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. where they arrived to find evidence that a shooting occurred but a search of the area indicated no victims.
Detectives at the scene notified area hospitals to be on the lookout for walk-in gunshot victims. There were more than a half dozen shell casings recovered from what police believe were two different guns.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
