There were no severe injuries reported for a shooting that erupted in a park in East Orange this afternoon.
Gunfire rang out near the Oval Park sending police to the scene where they searched the area for a suspect responsible for the shooting.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they located shell casings and other evidence according to preliminary reports.
The Gordon Parks Academy School was placed on a lockdown status due to the investigation.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. East Orange city officials did not respond to public information calls.
