One Person Shot at Halloween Party in Edison

Police in Edison are actively investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in the city overnight.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 3050 Woodbridge Avenue before 1 a.m. where they arrived to find a crowd of people attending a Halloween Party and one person suffering a gunshot wound.

EMS rushed the victim to an area hospital where their condition was not immediately reported as life-threatening.

Witnesses said that they heard at least three rounds of gunshots rang out from the crowd, but didn't believe the shots were real until they saw others run and fall to the ground.

One person was observed leaving the scene in a light-colored vehicle and is believed to be the gunmen.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

UPDATE 10:01 AM: Shooting occurred at the E Hotel Banquet and Conference Center on Woodbridge Avenue. The number of victims has been updated to two injured with non-life threatening injuries.
