Police in Newark are investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital overnight in the city.
Several rounds of gunfire rang out in the 300 block of South 7th Street shortly before 11:30 p.m. where cops located two male victims suffering injury from gunfire.
One of the men died of his injuries according to authorities while the other victim's injuries were reported as serious but stable.
Detectives searched the area for evidence and possible suspects but there were no immediate report of arrests.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
