Governor Christie: "Do Not Compare This Blizzard to Super Storm Sandy" ; Governor Speaks of Current Conditions

Trenton

These are some talking points from New Jersey Governor Christopher Christie given at around 8:15 a.m.

The snow totals are currently meeting our expectation.

We are watching coastal flooding near the shore which is minor right now.

Most power outages are in South Jersey but we are expecting utility crews to alleviate these issues as the day goes along

Please stay home, we are expecting 6-18 inches of snow in some parts of the state.

Our trucks are out there making progress. We have over 4,000 trucks statewide that are plowing and salting major roads at this time.

Stay off the roads so that the crews can continue to do a great job.

This is my 17th major storm during my time as governor, so we have experience in handling emergency conditions of this magnitude.

The heaviest snow falls have not come yet and are expected to come at around 1 p.m.

Please don't compare this blizzard to Super Storm Sandy, it's no where near it.
