Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Awarded Body Armor Replacement Fund

Gloucester County

Prosecutor Charles Fiore announces that the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office has been awarded almost $4000 in Body Armor funding.

The County and Office of the Prosecutor are diligent about their officers’ safety and stay abreast of current trends and changing needs of officers. The Prosecutor’s Office applied for these funds under the 2018 State Body Armor Replacement Fund Program through the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety.

These funds are used to offset the growing costs of purchasing up to date body vests for our detectives and response teams. This is a five year vest replacement program.

To be eligible for this funding, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office must maintain a body armor policy for all uniformed officers engaged in patrol or field operations. The Prosecutor’s Office oversees the Special Weapons and Tactics team and other units that routinely engage in field operations.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office maintains its mission to enforce the law through leadership and partnerships with local police departments for the safety of the community.

Any questions regarding this funding and its uses may contact the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives at (856) 384-5500.
