Garfield Bank Robbery Has Police Investigating

The search continues for a man accused of robbing the M&T Bank Thursday morning.

According to reports, police were called the M&T Bank on Outwater Lane sometime around 9:30 a.m. for the report of a bank robbery.

The suspect, who was described as a black or Hispanic, 5-feet, 8-inches to 6-feet tall male in his mid-30's, took off with approximately $11,000 in cash proceeds.

According to the FBI, authorities are investigating the possibility that the suspect may have been the "Count Down Bandit" who has struck in seven other banks in Bergen and Passaic counties.

A $5,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest.
