Brace yourselves as you step outside today – it's a frigid morning in Newark, with temperatures at a biting 18 degrees.AdDespite the promise of a bit of sunshine as the day gets going, don't expect any relief; the sun's rays will hardly make a dent in the cold, leaving us feeling as if it's just 7 degrees in parts of North Jersey.

The National Weather Service said it's a cold, blustery day ahead, and the mild sunlight won't be enough to combat the chill.

With wind chill values hovering between 5 and 10 degrees, today's high is expected to reach only near 25. The northwest wind, blowing at a brisk 10 to 20 mph, only adds to the biting cold.

As night falls, NWS meteorologists said the temperature will drop to around 17 degrees under partly cloudy skies, maintaining wind chill values between 5 and 10.AdWhile a thaw is on the horizon for next week, for now, it's essential to take care of yourself.

Dress warmly, limit your time outside, and ensure you're well-bundled up to brave these dangerously cold conditions.
