Former Woodbridge Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Sexual Assault of a Minor

Woodbridge Township

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Robert Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department announce that a former volunteer firefighter and current maintenance worker of a local hospital has been arrested and charged for the sexual assault of a minor.

According to authorities, Robert Jazikoff, 64, of Whiting in Manchester Township, Ocean County, was arrested yesterday and charged with two first degree counts of aggravated sexual assault, and two second degree counts of sexual assault arising from incidents that occurred in Woodbridge Township, between 1991 and 1992, with a minor between 12-13 years of age.

Officials say Jazikoff, who is currently employed as a maintenance worker at Hackensack Meridian Health-JFK Medical Center in Edison, is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a Detention Hearing scheduled for next week.

An investigation began after the victim who is now an adult notified authorities. The investigation is being conducted by members of the Woodbridge Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

It was determined that Jazikoff, at the time of the incident, was a volunteer firefighter with the Port Reading Fire Department District #2, in Woodbridge Township. Subsequent to that, he was the volunteer Fire Chief in the same department in 1996.

The investigation is active and is continuing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Nicole Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department at (732) 634-7700 ext. 7614, or Detective Deon McCall of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3652.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Jazikoff, are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
