Fords Man Charged with Aggravated Assault, Eluding Police

Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet announced that a Fords man was charged with eluding police and aggravated assault for causing a crash that injured two people in the Township on June 24.

Officials said Mr. Gregory Kazdan, 18, of the Fords section of Woodbridge, was charged with one count of eluding in the second degree and two counts of aggravated assault for causing bodily injury while eluding in the second degree.

An investigation by Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that at approximately 3:35 p.m. Old Bridge Police were attempting to pull over Kazdan while he was traveling on the shoulder of Route 9 North and passing vehicles at a high rate of speed.

According to Police, Kazdan, who was driving a 2019 white Mercedes Benz, proceeded to run a red light at the intersection of Route 9 North and Old Mill Road and struck a 2014 Ford Focus.

Both the driver, a 42-year-old woman, and her 15-year old passenger were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for the injuries they sustained in the crash.

Kazdan is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, pending a Detention Hearing.
