For the first time in more than a week, Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to temperatures above freezing, but commuters are facing areas of dense fog to start the day.

Happy Monday. Despite the milder temperatures, conditions are gloomy, with thick moisture in the air prompting a Dense Fog Advisory for much of New Jersey.
Visibility may be reduced in some areas, so drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time.
Rain is expected to move into the area between 9 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., before tapering off early this afternoon.
As of early morning, it is 42 degrees at Bergen Street and Clinton Avenue, and commuters waiting at the bus stop should still bundle up.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast calls for:
• Rain mainly before 1 p.m.
• Areas of fog before 10 a.m.
• High near 50 degrees
• South winds 7–12 mph, becoming west 17–22 mph in the afternoon, with gusts up to 40 mph
• Chance of rain: 90%, with up to a quarter-inch of rainfall expected
Tonight, skies will turn partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around 27 degrees and wind-chill values between 15 and 20 degrees.
Have a great day, and stay safe on the roads.
