Flying Bullets Strike Car in Newark's South Ward

Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting that caused property damage in the city's South Ward earlier this afternoon. 

The shots fired incident happened near the intersection of Ridgewood and Madison avenues just before 1:30 p.m. 

Police say ShotSpotter device activated in that section of the city, sending police to the scene to investigate. 

Upon arrival, police found several shell casings, but no victims were found after officers searched the area. 

Police say one of the bullets struck an unoccupied vehicle. The suspects fled the scene and remained at large.
