Police in Newark requests the public’s help in locating five men who are wanted for separate incidents of domestic violence.
Police say Mr. Aljalill Smith, 32, of Newark, is wanted on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and simple assault for an incident that occurred in the North Ward today.
Detectives determined that Smith is a suspect in pointing a weapon at a woman he knows following a physical altercation. Police described Smith as 6-feet tall and 200 lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his right hand.
According to police, Mr. Marcus Harris, 24, of Orange, is being sought on a charge of terroristic threats in connection with an incident that took place in the South Ward between Monday, April 22nd and Tuesday, April 23rd, following a quarrel with a woman he knows.
Police say, Harris is described as 6’1” tall and 155 lbs. He has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
According to police, Mr. Karon Hardyfields, 22, of Newark, is wanted on a charge of simple assault involving a woman he knows on Friday, April 19th.
Police say Hardyfields is 5’5” tall and 150 lbs. He has a medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
According to police, Mr. Lamont Pray, Jr., 40, of Newark, is being sought on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in an incident that occurred on Monday, April 15th.
Police say woman he knows was struck with a metal pole after being followed. Pray is described as 6’1” tall and 190 lbs. He has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
Police say Mr. Deshawn Eley, 28, of Newark, is wanted on charges of burglary, assault and criminal mischief under the State’s Domestic Violence laws in connection with an incident that occurred on Thursday, April 18th.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Eley as a suspect who kicked in the residential door of a woman he knows before assaulting her and a minor inside the residence. Eley is described as 5’9” tall and 160 lbs. with a medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
While police are actively searching for these suspects we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from our streets.
