Firefighters Battle Two Raging Fires That Destroyed Homes in Linden

There were no injuries reported for two fires that destroyed homes in the Linden during the overnight hours.

According to preliminary reports, the first fire occurred in the 800 block of North Wood Avenue just before 10 p.m. where firefighters arrive to find a two and a half story house burning at that location.

Crews managed to get water on the flames to make a fast knockdown of the fire. A search of the structure indicated no trapped or injured occupants.

In the second and most significant blaze, crews were called to 900 Seymour Avenue just before 10:36 p.m. where firefighters arrived to find the corner house fully involved in fire.

According to officials, massive flames tore through the structure forcing fire officials to signal a second alarm for additional assistance from surrounding towns according to officials.

Officials say heavy fire and a collapse of the structures made it a total loss according to officials.

The caus eof both fires are under investigation.
