The fire broke out sometime around 5:45 a.m. on the 800 block of Main Street in Sayreville.
The multi-alarm fire has closed Main Street to all traffic until further notice.
The strip mall houses businesses such as a dry cleaner, hair salon, liquor store, as well as a Quick Check among others.
According to police, substantial damage to a large part of the building declaring pizza shop and liquor store are a total loss while the remainder of the businesses sustained smoke and/or water damage.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Sayreville Police Department Detectives and Fire Marshall are on scene investigatingto cause.
