Fire officials in Rahway are investigating a fire that ignited inside a house in the city early this morning.
The fast moving two-alarm fire had firefighters at 424 Sycamore Street shortly before 3 a.m. where arriving crews observed thick smoke coming from the two-story house.
Firefighters made entry into the home where a search for injured and trapped occupants were negative.
Mutual assistance was provided by Linden, Cranford, and Elizabeth to bring the blaze under control in under an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
