Garfield firefighters battled a fire that ignited inside a multi-family building in Garfield Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the 80's block of Jewel Avenue after they received reports of a fire inside a building just before 1:45 a.m.
Crews arrived and found flames shooting from the roof of a three-story structure at that location.
Over three dozen firefighters assisted in extinguishing heavy fire that engulfed much of the top floor.
The fire was brought under control around 3:45 with the cause under investigation.
No injuries reported.
