Firefighter Injured in Three-Alarm Fire That Destroyed Elizabeth House

**UPDATE 9:10 a.m. This is a fatal fire with a female victim reported.**

A raging overnight fire that destroyed a house in Elizabeth had a firefighter injured, and several people displaced.

Heavy fire ripped through the roof of a house located in the 900 block of Flora Street shortly before 11 p.m. sending dozens of firefighters to the scene with mutual assistance from several towns.

Cold temperatures and icy conditions were hampering crews attempts to immediately tackle flames that were present from the roof of the two and a half story home that ultimately forced the third alarm.

A firefighter was transported to the hospital suffering injuries but not reported to be life-threatening.

At least one other person was pulled out of the house suffering an unknown injury.

Firefighters brought the fire under control shortly after midnight.

The fire is under investigation by Elizabeth Officials
