Ferocious Six Alarm Fire Destroys Condo Complex in Maplewood

A wild six-alarm fire that ripped through a condo complex in Maplewood is under investigation.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Boyden Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a fire at that location.

Swiftly responding Maplewood firefighters arrived at the scene where they observed the fierce fire that was engulfing a newly constructed four-story condo complex at 200 Boyden Avenue according to authorities.

Crews immediately requested a three-alarm as out of control flames, and ferocious fire conditions tore through the structure and began to extend to the New Jersey Transit parking garage according to reports.

Fire officials identified the name of the complex as the Avalon Apartments which were still reportedly under construction.

The fire brought more than a half dozen fire companies to the scene including Newark, Union, Irvington, Elizabeth, Verona, and Springfield.

There were no injuries immediately reported.
