A female gunshot victim is in stable condition after gunfire rang out in a section of Newark's South Ward Tuesday night.
According to police, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a gunman fired multiple rounds in the direction of several individuals in the vicinity of 515 Elizabeth Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found an unidentified female suffering a gunshot wound in her arm.
Police said the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Authorities said that one other person entered the hospital suffering a gunshot wound and is believed to have suffered the injury on Elizabeth Avenue.
The incident remains under an active and ongoing investigation.
Police reported no arrests.
