Authorities in Bloomfield are investgiating a pedestrian strike that has a male dead at this time in Bloomfield.
The incident happened at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Broad and Pitt streets where emergency responders found the severely injured victim lying on the ground after a vehicle struck him.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital in Newark where doctors pronounced him dead a short time later according to reports.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is handling the investigation into the incident.
