There is an active investigation underway in Long Branch as detectives try to determine how a person fell from a balcony this morning in the city.
Emergency responders were called to the 40's block of Laird (Pier Village) shortly before 1:45 a.m. after receiving reports of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, crews found the unconscious and unresponsive person laying on the ground at that location.
According to preliminary reports, the victim fell about four stories from a balcony to their death.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
