Authorities in Mercer County are looking into a fatal crash that killed one person on a highway in West Windsor Township on Monday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, emergency responders rushed to the vicinity of US-1 and Carnegie Center Boulevard after receiving reports of a car crash with trapped and injured occupants.
Rescue crews arrived at the scene and found a severely damaged vehicle with at least one person heavily trapped inside.
The victim was extricated from the car then later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Police closed off Route 1 or an extended period for the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
