Bergen County authorities are looking into the details of a disturbing familial altercation that escalated into a stabbing incident in Teaneck early Saturday morning.
The violent encounter occurred around 1:07 a.m. near the intersection of Kipp Street and Catalpa Avenue.
A preliminary investigation suggests an argument between a man and his father took a dangerous turn when the son, allegedly wielding a sharp object — possibly a knife — inflicted a stab wound to his father's neck.
The altercation's severity prompted immediate medical attention for the father, who was rushed to a nearby hospital. He is currently reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, local law enforcement swiftly placed the son into custody. In light of his actions, he was reportedly taken for a psychological evaluation.
As the investigation continues, authorities are piecing together the events leading up to the stabbing.
