A bakery fire on Hudson Avenue left several families homeless Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 5811 Hudson Avenue sometime after 3 for a report of a cooking fire that quickly spread to the building's shafts.
Residents of the apartments located above a bakery had to be relocated, according to officials.
The bakery is said to have suffered extensive damage.
The West New York Police Department is investigating the fire.
