The Essex County Redevelopment Authority will be opening applications for their Small Business Lease Emergency Assistance Grant Program on November 6.
As part of this program, the Redevelopment Authority will be awarding grants of up $30,000 to eligible small businesses and non-profits in Essex County.
Eligible applicants must be:
- Tenants leasing commercial space in mixed-use buildings or commercial buildings
- Storefront businesses that lease their space
- Leased premises must be no more than 7500 square feet
Applicants don't need to be delinquent on their lease payments to be eligible for this grant.
Additionally, businesses that are engaged in gambling or "adult" activities, auction sales, Christmas tree sales, tattoo parlors, smoke shops and liquor stores will not be eligible to apply for this grant.
