Mark Musella announced the arrest of a 36-year-old Englewood man in connection with a shooting that left a woman injured at a private residence earlier this month.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Christian D. Parra-Pescoso, 36, of Englewood, has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition magazine.
The arrest follows a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer, and the Englewood Police Department, led by Chief Thomas Greeley.
Authorities said that at approximately 3:52 a.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026, Englewood police responded to reports of a shooting at a private residence on Charles Street.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim who had been struck by gunfire, sustaining injuries to her arm and shoulder.
She was transported to HMH Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police took Parra-Pescoso into custody at the scene. Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded and initiated a joint investigation, which determined that the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim by striking her with a handgun, causing a laceration to her head, and then fired the weapon multiple times, striking her once.
As a result, Parra-Pescoso was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree aggravated assault, and fourth-degree possession of a large-capacity ammunition magazine.

Following his arrest, Parra-Pescoso was transported to Englewood Health Hospital & Medical Center for a medical evaluation before being remanded to the Bergen County Jail, where he is awaiting a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court.
Prosecutors noted that the charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
