According to district officials, the reported threat was brought to the attention of school leaders, central administration, and law enforcement as part of ongoing safety coordination efforts.

The Elizabeth Police Department immediately launched an investigation to assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff.

Police determined later that evening that the threat posed no credible danger and cleared school officials to open as scheduled.

Schools operated normally, and a police presence was maintained on campus the following morning as an added precaution and to support school administration. Classroom instruction began without disruption.

District leaders emphasized that Elizabeth Public Schools will continue to remain vigilant in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment across all schools and administrative offices.

Families are also being encouraged to speak with their children about situational awareness and the serious consequences associated with making threats.
