Police located multiple shell casings at the scene of a shots-fired incident in a section of Elizabeth on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to shots fired in a neighborhood on New York Avenue around 12:30 a.m.
Units who arrived at the scene found evidence of a shooting, but after they searched the area, no victims were located.
Police say several .223 shell casings were recovered in the neighborhood, but the suspects fled the scene and remained at large.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
