Elizabeth Motorcyclist, Passenger Seriously Injured in Linden Crash

According to Linden Police, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Officers responded to the intersection of East St. George and Washington avenues on reports of a severe motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. 

Preliminary reports indicated a 2009 Honda CBR motorcycle was traveling northbound on East St. George Avenue when it collided with a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup. It made a left turn from the southbound lanes of East St. George Avenue onto Washington Avenue. 

Linden Police said the motorcycle driver, a 26-year-old man from Elizabeth, was seriously injured in the crash. The passenger, a 22-year-old woman from Elizabeth, was also injured. Both victims were transported to Newark University Hospital. 

Police say the pickup driver, a 56-year-old Linden man, sustained minor injuries in the crash. He was treated on the scene and refused further medical attention. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.
